I caved and I bought the new Fendy Beauty products, but can you blame me? I'd watched like 4 review videos on YouTube and I was convinced that I needed it in my life.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, base make up is literally the most important part of any make up look. Yes, you can have eyeshadows that slay and eyebrows on point, but it doesn't matter if your base isn't quite right. So this range is right up my street!

I was going to order it online but thought I'd rather go in store and give it a proper look, At first I thought I was going to be shade 170 or 190 in the foundation but boy was I wrong, I ended up going for the 150- let's just reflect on how pale I actually am. This foundation does dry a little bit darker so that is something to remember.

Next I went for the trio sticks, I think these are good value for money as you get three for £46, whereas if you buy them individually they are priced at £21 each. I went for the lightest shades, they are creamy, so easy to blend and even more importantly they do what they say! My face looked defined and concealed, so what more could I want.

I went a bit crazy when it came to highlighters and ended up buying two as well as the brush. I felt like I couldn't get Fenty beauty without getting the trophy wife colour- despite the sales assistant insisting this wouldn't suit my skin tone. I thought it would be perfect for the inner corners of my eyes! I also bought the double highlighter in the lightest shades and this is amazing.. a little really goes a long way!

Have you bought any of the products? What are your thoughts?

We all have one thing that we're fond of, whether it's football, handbags or collecting CDs. Whatever it may be, there is something that makes us happy. For me, it's always been travelling. Don't get me wrong, there are a few things in life that make me happy- good company, food, lusting over handbags and movies. But when it comes to travelling it's something else entirely, it's experiencing something for the first time. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea and when I say travelling I don't necessarily mean backpacking, more like the Hilton in Dubai but still.. you get what I mean.

So do I actually have a point here? To be honest, not really. I just wanted to tell you a little bit about my recent trip abroad because why not, maybe it will inspire you to go.

Where did I actually go then? If you haven't guessed it from the pictures above (no worries if you didn't) I visited Dubai and Bali this Summer with my boyfriend. I flew from Manchester to Dubai, spent four days there, travelled from Dubai to Bali, spent a week there, then back to Dubai for three days, before flying home. That was tiring just to type so you can imagine how the flights were long and boring. But more importantly, was it worth it? Going all that way and spending all that money.

I'm just going to focus on Dubai today as I honestly still can't make my mind up on whether I loved it or not. In the run up to the holiday I spent forever ordering and trying on clothes before sending them all back because I really didn't know what was acceptable. I wanted to be respectful of their culture but I was also very aware of how hot Dubai is. I ended up settling on some maxi dresses (one of which actually broke while we were out- nightmare!) and some flowy pants. So that's tip number one, if you're going, I advise you go for these types of clothes as otherwise, you were looked at quite strangely. I also opted for a scarf to wrap around my shoulders and I was so glad that I brought it with me because whenever I removed/ adjusted it, I felt really out of place.

Dubai is hot. I mean I knew it was going to be hot before we went but oh my, there is literally no air. My best way to describe it is to put your head into an oven. Even the sea was boiling hot and it was incredibly stuffy. I wish I would have gone at a bit of a colder time but nevertheless, inside had air conditioning and it gave me an excuse to look around all of the malls (which were great!!) So my second tip is to stay hydrated and if you're like me and awful with the heat, go when it is a little bit cooler.

Now since I already mentioned the Malls.. why not mention it some more. We visited two malls, The Mall of Emirates and The Dubai Mall. The Dubai Mall was easily my favourite, as like most of Dubai, it takes your breath away. The Aquarium and swarm of people surrounding it, is overwhelming as soon as you walk in, there are shops everywhere and so many restaurants and stores to suit everyone. You feel yourself just standing and looking around for a while in awe. The only downside was that the pound to the dirim isn't all that great so most things were quite expensive but if you have another currency this might not be a problem!

The views are definitely worth a look, we went up the Burj Khalifa during the day and it was such a stunning view. You can pay for various floor levels to suit yourself, and even if you don't want to go up to the sky deck (we never) you can still see eveything perfectly fine! They love a good photo opportunity in there so be prepared to be pulling all sorts of faces and moves infront of a green sceen, and although we didn't buy any of the photos, we still had a bit of a laugh at them.

Dubai was such a culture change for me and it took me a while to get used to. I like to walk around so the gigantic motorways everywhere weren't exactly in my favour. However, I still feel like Dubai has a lot more to offer that I never got to experience so I would love to go again maybe in Spring or Autumn.

Have you ever been? What did you make it?

Hi!

On Tuesday I had the pleasure of trying out the Evening Favourites menu at Jamies Italian. The restaurant is located in Liverpool One and both the exterior and interior are designed to perfection. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxed, and the waiter who served me (+ my boyfriend) could not have been more pleasant.

Upon arrival, we were taken to our table as soon as it was ready and seated near the window. I love to people watch so this was a perfect spot for me! We browsed the menus and decided that the Evening Favourites took our fancy, at 3 courses for just £18.95.

I had the Tomato and Ricotta Bruschetta to start, a veggie burger with seasoned fries for my main, and my favourite part of the meal, molten chocolate praline pudding for dessert. All of the food was absolutely delish, and after such brilliant service, I will definitely be visiting again sometime soon.

I recommend that you try it out for yourself and let me know your thoughts if you do!

I recently order the Bootea 14 day Teatox, and since I've not long finished it, I decided to share my thoughts with you.

First, I'll talk about the packaging. It comes neatly in a small box, and inside there are two wallets, filled with day time and night time tea. The main colours are pink and green, and I thought they looked quite nice. The little wallets (if that is even what they are called) had little locks on the top so they could be closed, keeping the tea fresh. I like this idea as it meant no messing around with little plastic wrapping that you just have to throw away once it's open.

So now let's talk about the tea. There are 14 day time teas and 7 night time ones, this is because you are advised to have a night time one every couple of days, because they are prone to cause laxative affects. I had mine every two days and thought this was enough.

The day time tea didn't particularly taste of anything, which was good. I just had it with my breakfast and didn't find that it was a problem.. I thought I'd forget one day but thankfully, I never.

The night time tea, referred to as bedtime, was a lot stronger in taste. It seemed a bit like Mint but I'm not entirely sure. It wasn't a horrible taste so I could deal with it.

Overall, I feel like it did reduce my bloating, particularly around my stomach. However, I wouldn't repurchase, just because I think you can buy lemon tea and mint tea for much cheaper and it will do the same job. I enjoyed trying it out and I'm glad it's gotten me into a routine of having green tea everyday!

P.S I asked you guys on Twitter (@emmaawilson) if you wanted me to review this on my blog or on a video and you said blog. I would absolutely love it if you could check out my YouTube channel for future videos, and if you have any suggestions then I would be more than willing to do them. My most recent video is shown below. Thank you!

Hello!

So as some of you may or may not know, over the past year/ year and a half, I've gotten into health and fitness.

I like to have a weekly treat but generally, I'm fairly healthy. After a workout on Saturday, me and my boyfriend decided to visit an asian restaurant in town- Miyagi. I'd heard about it before but never actually been, the food was made with coconut milk and had cleansing juices so I thought it was before for what we were after!

I didn't have a starter or anything since this was just for lunch, I did have a gorgeous juice though (I can't remember the name but it was the one with the strawberry and pineapple in!) and for my main, I got the luska. It was basically noodles, tofu, egg and veggies in a coconut milk sauce, and it was soo nice! I was skeptical at first but I really enjoyed it.

I posted these photos on Instagram too so you can always keep up to date with me by following me on there.

So yesterday I visited this little cafe that I'd read about on the internet- as you do. It's fairly new and completely different to your average cafes. You don't pay for the food and drink that you want but instead, you pay for the time that you spend there. It's a strange concept really, you make your own drink (coffee, tea, juice, water, whatever you want really) and then take as much as the food as you like from the selection on the table.

I admit that this is fairly dangerous, I mean unlimited access to cakes and biscuits.. it's never going to end well. It wasn't anything particularly fancy though, just a selection of store bought treats. However, I loved the atmosphere, it was really chilled with couches and games- we played Jenga and Chess, and it seemed like you could just treat it as your own home.

It is 6 pence per minute and we were there for just over an hour, charging around £4 each. I enjoyed the experience as it was different, but I think I'd rather just get a Starbucks and not have to do my own dishes afterwards, plus I tend to like to sit there for quite a while and the price could have gotten a little ridiculous if you were there too long.

Nevertheless, it was definitely something I wanted to try and I'm glad that I did. There are two of these from what I know of, one in Manchester and one that I visited on the Albert Dock in Liverpool. So you could try it out for yourself if one is near you!

I think I've found a potential favourite brand, and I've only tried three products.

You might have noticed in pictures or vlogs, my lips are always incredibly dry. I'r tried a million lip balms, one minute they seem to work and then a few days later and they are back to their horrible old self.

But I've found the perfect solution and you wouldn't believe how much it cost! Sephora's own branded products have done nothing but please me since the moment I tried them. I purchased these items in Rome when I went for a short visit, and they are fast becoming favourites.

The first is of course, the lip balm. It's a clear stick that smells really nice and feels nourishing. It's helped my lips much better than any other products and it seems to have helped them in the long term too, preventing dry lips even when I don't use it. The best bit, it cost me 4 euros!! I can't recommend this enough.

The next product is another dry skin related problem. This time for my hands, I tend to have a problem with picking a good moisturiser that isn't too greasy. I'll admit, my first use of this I thought I'd picked another bad one. Turns out I squirted too much on my hands and when using a smaller amount, it has again prevented the dry skin and instantly moisturisers my hands. It's a nice little size for your handbag too- always a bonus. I can't remember the exact price, but I'm sure it's around the 6 euro mark. Another great bargain!

The last product is the one I was originally looking for. I've heard so many good things about the red shade lip stains from Sephora, so I wanted to try one for myself. This one is in the shade 03 and is easy to wear. It looks a bit like a gloss but it dries matte, the only problem I've found is that it takes a while before it stops smudging. So I'd advise to put it on early, especially before you eat or anything likewise. Regardless, I still like it and I'm excited to use it more.

If only there was a Sephora near me!

Recently, Nanny Violet Jam very kindly sent me a lovely blue box (after asking for my favourite colour) filled with various flavoured jam!

I've always been a lover of jam since I was a child and after trying it with peanut butter- it got a whole lot better. I love it when there are no bits and even the 'no bits' ones in the supermarket have a little bit of a thick texture. These ones don't at all, and after opening the strawberry flavoured one, it was soon devoured!

I just want to say how cute the packaging is, you can see how much care has went into it and I was glad to see that it arrived safely. Inside, the blue theme continues with tissue paper and little blue material covering the tops of the lids.
I love the little label saying what flavour it is too, it's very unique and has a vintage feel to it. The flavours that were included are:
- Strawberry
- Raspberry
- Cherry
- Blueberry
- Pink grapefruit marmalade
- Orange and whisky
- Blackberry and apple
- Blackcurrant

So plenty of flavours to suit everyone!
I'd definitely recommend them, I think this was the nicest jam I've ever had! You can check them out on either facebook or Twitter!  @ NannyVioletsJam

Although I've been enjoying my current mascara I was starting to find it was going a little clumpy. When I realised Elle were giving away minis of the new benefit mascara, I had to buy it!

The packaging is really cute with the pink background and the fancy writing. So it's safe to say that the first impression was good.

The lid is a little different to what the full size one will look like but it's still cute and matches the pink and black theme. The brush is slightly 'wanded' to give the curling effect, although I'm sure the bigger product will be more noticeable.
It applies really nicely and the bristles feel soft- which in my opinion is always a winner.

I really like the look of the mascara and how I don't need to mess around with eyelash curlers. I've never tried any of benefits mascaras but I do love the brand and judging by the first couple of uses so far, I can see me purchasing the full size. A definite staple in my current every day make-up!

The first time I tried anything from Charlotte Tilbury was fairly recently, and I'm absolutely loving it.

I have a matte lipstick and the product that I'm going to talk about today- the  colour coded eyeshadow palette.

I have the Golden Goddess, which consists of four shades- prime, enhance, smoke and pop.

Firstly, I adore the packaging. It definitely represents the price (£38) with its shiny casing and the golden brand.

The shades are fairly pigmented and work well together. The top row from left to right is 1- prime, 2- enhance and the bottom row is 4- pop and 3- smoke.

I've taken a swatch of each so that you can see the colours on skin.

From left to right- smoke (3), pop (4), enhance (2) and prime (1)
I like to use prime over the whole lid and normally smoke in the crease, they work really well together for a simple look.

If you haven't tried the brand, I definitely recommend it!
